Group 1 Main Exam Details

The medium of question paper will be in English and Tamil. The candidates who will qualify for the main written exam will be called for an interview round. The marks obtained in the main written exam and in the interview will be countable for the final selection.

Group 1 Main Exam
Selected candidates in prelims exam will be called for mains exam, which carries three papers for 250 marks each. Only 1 out of 50 candidates will go through for mains exam. To qualify in the main exam (including interview), general category candidate should score atleast 408 marks while reserved category candidate need to get 306 marks only. Unlike the UPSC Mains, there are no optional papers or subjects in the Main Exam Syllabus. The number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may also exceed 1:50 ratio.
