    The applicant should have completed the age of 20 years and should not be above 30 years as of 1st July of the Notification year. The upper age limit Exception is given to certain categories as follows:-

    For TNUSRB Technical SI  Qualification Aspirants Must possess a minimum of a second-class diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or A Degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication engineering recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education.

    20% POLICE DEPARTMENTAL QUOTA

    Police Constables and Head Constables and their equivalent ranks in the Taluk, Armed Reserve Police and TN Special Police can apply under 20% Departmental Quota. They should have completed 5 years of service as of the date of notification. Aspirants applying under the 20% departmental quota are exempted from the Physical Measurement Test. However, they are required to attend the Certificate verification 1:5 ratio and Viva-Voce in a 1:3 ratio.

    CONCESSIONS FOR SPECIAL CATEGORIES

    A. EX-SERVICEMEN / SERVING PERSONS WHO ARE ABOUT TO RETIRE WITHIN 1 YEAR FROM THE LAST DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION:

    Age Relaxation:The upper age limit shall be 47 years on the 1st of July of the notification year.

    The Ex-servicemen who have not completed three years period after discharge from service and the Armed Forces serving personnel who are going to retire within one year from the last date of receipt of the online application only can apply for this recruitment.

    iii. Should attend the Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Certificate Verification and Interview.

    B. DESTITUTE WIDOW:-

    1. Age Relaxation: The upper age limit shall be 37 years as of the 1st of July of the notification year.
    2. The Destitute Widow Aspirants should obtain a “Destitute Widow Certificate” from the Revenue Divisional Officer / Sub-Collector / Asst Collector and upload it with the online application. Failing they will not be accepted under the Destitute Widow category.

    TRANSGENDER :

    a) Age Relaxation: The upper age limit shall be 35 years as of the 1st of July of the notification year.

    b) Transgender Aspirants may decide their self-identified gender anyone such as male or female or as the third gender.

    c) If a transgender Aspirant applies under the Third gender and will be considered like a woman Aspirant. The 30% reservation will apply to them.

    d) If the transgender Aspirants produce their community certificate, they can get the beneficiary of communal reservation like other Aspirants.

    e) If the transgender Aspirants do not produce their community certificate, they will be considered in the Most Backward Class category.

    EXAMINATION FEE:

    The Examination fee is Rs.500/-. If the Police Departmental Aspirants apply for both open quota and departmental quota, he/she shall pay a sum of Rupees 1000/- as an exam fee, which shall be paid either through SBI cash challan or online payment.     WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF MARKS :

    All the eligible Aspirants will be called for Written Examination.

    Part I. Tamil Language Eligibility Test:

    1. The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is compulsory qualifying.
    2. Exam will be objective type in nature.

    iii. Exam will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks and the duration of the examination will be 100 mins (1 Hr 40 mins.)

    1. The Aspirant has to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in the Tamil Lang Eligibility test, for him/her to be eligible for the next level of evaluation of the main exam OMR answer sheet.
    2. The marks obtained in Tamil Language Eligibility Test will not be considered for the selection list at any stage.
    3. In respect of 20% of Departmental Aspirants, the Tamil Language Eligibility Test will be commonly conducted along with those who are applying for open quota

    vii. The Aspirants who have applied under both the Open and Departmental categories will have to write the commonly conducted Tamil Language Eligibility Test only once.

    PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT TEST :

    After clearing the written examination, the number of Aspirants called for physical measurement tests will be 5 times the number of vacancies. The physical measurement test comprises height and chest measurements for men and height measurements for women and transgender Aspirants. The minimum eligibility requirement is as follows:

    CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION AT CENTRE :

    1. The open Aspirants who qualify for the Physical Measurement Test will be called for original certificate verification.
    2. The Departmental Aspirants will be called for in the 1:5 ratio for original certificate verification.

    iii. The Aspirants who are called for Certificate Verification will have to produce their original certificates which they had uploaded during the submission of the online application. An Aspirant who fails to produce the Original Certificates will lose his/her claims about communal reservation, age relaxation and special quota. New certificates /claims other than uploaded certificates will not be entertained.

    INTERVIEW:

    The Aspirants who qualify in Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test and original certificate verification will be called for Interview in a ratio of 1:3.

    The interview will be conducted at TNUSRB, Chennai. Aspirants who are called for Interviews should produce all the Original Certificates at the time of Viva-Voce.

    iii. Aspirants serving as Government Servants (other than the departmental quota Aspirants) in State Government should produce a “No Objea action Certificate” from their respective Unit Heads.

    If there is a tie in marks, the Aspirant senior in age shall be given priority in selection.

    If the marks secured are equal and the date of birth is the same preference shall be given to the Aspirant who is an outstanding scout, having received an award from the President of India.

    20% of all vacancies shall be set apart on a preferential basis for the persons who studied from 1st Standard to Diploma/graduation in Tamil medium.
